.Faculty affiliation is designed to be a loose system, easy for collaborators to join and choose their level of engagement.
.Because it reaches across the university, it is specifically designed to promote multi-disciplinary collaboration and engagement. The primary purpose of affiliation is to build community, density, and capability in the area of digital media.
.Because it’s reliant on yearly plans of work as a key input, faculty can self-determine engagement level and scope for scholarly/creative work and service contributions.
.Affiliation is reviewed every other year by Center Director and a committee of affiliated faculty, as well as by the individual faculty affiliate, in case plans change or new directions emerge.
.Given the volatility of the field, affiliation agreements can be ended early by either party (but has some financial ramifications for work-in-progress that is funded or supported work administered by MAGIC).
