RIT to host statewide Game Dev Challenge kickoff January 19th Contest is open to college students and indie game developers; $25,000 in prize money up for grabs

Winners will be awarded cash/funding for their game (drawn from a pool of $25,000 for each category), inclusion in our (or partner’s) on-site incubator, and access to our mentor network.

The challenge website http://magic.rit.edu/nysgamechallenge includes: challenge criteria, submission requirements, prizes, deadlines and more. If you have additional questions, please contact Rob Mostyn, RIT Digital Game Hub Coordinator at rob@magic.rit.edu

We will “formally” kick off the challenge with an event at RIT on January 19 at 4PM featuring video game industry professionals Simon Ebejer and Mitchell Bukowski of the New York-based studio Vicarious Visions.

This event will be streamed and captioned in real-time. It is available via browser at http://www.ustream.tv/channel/rit-events. A Ustream app is available for both Android and iOS mobile devices; after downloading, search “RIT Events” to find the stream.
